There is no free lunch in this world...

nothing comes cheap..especially Microsoft Products...nearly joined the MO the other time....heng..neber buy from him...somemore he is the moderator of the Forum board..Victor somethinglike that...those who orderd paid nearly $200 for a pc....hiaz...this guy just made use of the oppturinity of Microsoft needing the Validation thingy..and advertised to all...i believe quite a number bought from him...

Unlike the low-end $10 pirated software more commonly found here, which is easily identified by cheap labels and flimsy plastic wrapping, the high-end counterfeits Ang sold were virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

He imported counterfeit Microsoft software for about $80 a disc from a source in Hong Kong, then resold them to people who wanted to buy genuine products for $180 to $320 through the popular local technology website VR-Zone. He was so convincing that even the tech-savvy VR-Zone staff bought his products.

The scam, which began in December last year, came to light after his customers complained to Microsoft that their software lacked the electronic code necessary to register their purchase.

2nd Question is a matter of price...looks like 945 for me..or see how first...

updated siggy

latest siggy with new items...

thinking of

getting a 945 or a 955 based board...have to make use of a LGA775 cpu bought 6 months back...its a 3.4GHz cpu....also time to update my siggy in VrZone...a bit outdated liao....

so far i have my eyes on 2 boards...the Gigabyte one GA-8I945P-Pro and a Foxconn Intel 955X7AA one...but the Foxconn name sounds crap to me...

lets compare...
the Gigabyte GA-8I945P-Pro

    • The most obvious reason for the 945P chipset's existence is to support Intel's new dual-core Pentium D processor. Unlike AMD, Intel apparently needed to make provisions beyond BIOS updates in order to work with these new dual CPUs, so support was delayed until the release of the 945P and the higher-end 955X Express chipsets. The 945P does add more than just dual-core flavours though.
    • The Serial ATA II standard was previously only available for Intel-based systems through nVidia's nForce 4 Intel Edition chipsets, but the Intel 945P brings this high-speed hard disk transfer standard back onside.
    • The 945P chipset supports only DDR II memory, and can handle up to 4GB of it. CPU FSB's supported include the popular 533MHz to 1066MHz processor variants.
    • PCI Express x16 is the video connector of choice; Intel currently supports only a single x16 slot for one graphics card, but rumors are that 945P may eventually gain SLI or ATI CrossFire support along with its 955X Express big brother, or even an Intel-only dual-videocard solution.
    • The Intel ICH-7R Southbridge controller includes ample multimedia capabilities, and supplants the ICH6 chipset. The ICH-7R only uses a single ATA-100 IDE controller (as Intel is trying to phase out Parallel IDE in favour of SATA) but provides four SATA II ports, an integrated Gigabit network adaptor and eight USB 2.0 ports.

Foxconn Intel 955X7AA
    • The board supports up to 8GB of PC5300 DDR2 memory as well as 800/1066MHz FSB Intel Pentium 4, Pentium D and Pentium Extreme Edition processors.
    • Network connectivity comes care of two Broadcom Gigabit NICs, IEEE 1394a/b Firewire is taken care of with a PCI bracket, the board boasts an additional Serial ATA/RAID controller as well as an IDE ITE RAID controller.
    • 7.1-channel audio is the work of Intel's 'High Definition' Azalia audio controller.
    • Serial ATA is the way of the future so we are also pleased to see Foxconn integrate an additional Silicon Image Sil3114 Serial ATA controller onto the 955X7AA-8EKRS2 motherboard
    • burst capacitors have become an issue with the long term stability of many motherboards (from every vendor), we're reassured to see primarily good quality capacitors used on the 955X7AA-8EKRS2board we tested. Around the CPU socket there are mainly Rubycon branded caps, while we find various brands else where on the board from TEAPO to Luxon, Lelon and KZJ.
    • Modern high performance chipsets can produce a lot of heat, but you need not worry about that with the Foxconn 955X7AA-8EKRS2 motherboard. The cooler on the 955X chipset is massive (well for chipsets it is) yet quiet. During testing the heatsink only got moderately warm to the touch. The Intel ICH7R southbridge is also pretty toasty , but this chipset is cooled with a little passive heatsink.

so there you have it..all taken from those two webby....hmmm..headache....dunno which one to choose...

Sunday liao...

so fast its Sunday again....yesterday ran a couple of places in the morning till afternoon...

Firstly went to Ang Mo Kio Tech Place...so what i did was took bus to orchard...then took a train up to Ang Mo Kio..and another bus 261 to MSI distro office to check out mobo...found out the board cant be save...but at least another MSI board which i picked up last time at SLS, is working..thats a P4 board...After the MSI thingy.. i needed to drop by Canon@Funan to collect my IXUS cam which i did not repair( cost a freaking $220 to repair !! )..so i was contemplating whether to make use of my $150 company medical benefits( all staff has $150 to cover dental or optical)...since i was going to Funan..i needed to take the train back to town..so decided..drop by my fav Optical shop..cheap n good at Chin Swee street to make a pair of glasses..FYI Marcus spoilt my $200 specs..

After ordering the glasses took bus from People's Park to Funan..and collected the cam....then another delimea should i get my R50 with Hyper OS engine???..or a gold braclet for myself..lol....not those thick ones like Uncle wearing..In the end dropped the idea and went to SLS to meet a guy to collect a Optical cable for my HTS ..

Friday night was down at Jurong Point...and Marcus was enjoying himself at ToysRUs..
